1- Organize
your practice. Instead of practicing one day a week for a whole
hour, it is much better to practice three times a week for 20
minutes. You will remember things easier and you will reinforce
things better.
2-
Use the context: when you are reading, there are images, text
markers (bullets, bold face), textual elements (numbers, proper
names), and other elements, that carry information. Learn to use
those elements to derive meaning from the context, beyond just
the words.
3-
Identify your learning style: some people are visual learners
and they prefer reading activities, others are aural learners
and they prefer listening. Some prefer rules and diagrams, others
prefer examples in context. Find what your style is, and what
kind of activity you learn better with.
4-
Expose yourself to the language: try to read as much as you can,
and listen to as much Spanish as you can. Beyond the classroom,
you can find Spanish websites, Spanish radios on the Internet,
Spanish movies, and Spanish TV channels. Even though you may not
understand everything they say, some sounds, some words, and the
cadence and rhythm of the language will start to be familiar to
you.
5-
Above all, give yourself time, and persevere. Learning a language
takes time, feeling confident with the language takes even longer.
If you keep on doing your best, you will start seeing the results.
We
hope this website helps you achive your language learning goals...
