Kai Stokes-Brown
Professor Stokes-Brown joined the faculty at Florida State University in the Fall of 2004. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, her master's in Political Science from Temple University, and her B.A. in Politics from Randolph College (formerly known as Randolph-Macon Woman's College). Her research and teaching
interests include campaigns and elections, state politics, political behavior,
gender, and race/ethnicity. Her research has appeared in the Journal
of Politics, National Political Science Review, Politics
and Policy, American Politics Research, and Political Research
Quarterly.. Her current projects include a study of the symbolic
effects ascribed to female candidates and a study of political participation
among Latino racial groups.
