Dr. Anthony
is the founder and former director of the Carl DeSantis
Center for Executive Management Education and is a winner of the 1991
President's Continuing Education Award at Florida
State University. He conducts seminars and workshops throughout the United
States on a variety of management topics for managers in business, government
and not-for-profit organizations. Among his clients are Rayonier, Motorola, State Farm
Insurance, U.S. Department of Energy, Berg Pipe Corporation, various State of
Florida agencies, and numerous not-for-profit organizations. He speaks on
Strategic Planning and Management, Strategic Decision Making, Managing Diversity and other
management topics.
Dr. Anthony has published twenty books and book revisions. His book with Pam Perrewe and Micki Kacmar called Strategic Human
Resource Management, 5th ed., is widely used at colleges and universities
throughout the U.S. and Canada. His Participative Management has been
reprinted twelve times and is in four languages. His Organization Theory: A
Strategic Approach is in its sixth edition. He has also published over 80
articles and papers in a variety of journals including the Journal of Applied
Psychology, Personnel Journal, Human Relations, The Academy
of Management Executive, and Long Range Planning. His articles have
dealt with envisionary management, managing stress, strategic planning,
management decision making, politics, and a variety of other management topics.
Dr. Anthony is an active member in both the Southern Management Association
and the Academy of Management as a paper reviewer and session chair at national
meetings. He also regularly presents at their annual meetings. Other
professional associations include Society of Human Resource Management and Beta
Gamma Sigma.
Dr. Anthony received his Ph.D. in Management and MBA from Ohio State University and his BBA in
Business from Ohio University. Prior to his
current position, Dr. Anthony served as Chairman of the Management Department for eleven years,
and was an Assistant Dean with the College of
Business at Florida State University.
