Another member of our household is Maggie Figley. She was born on Holloween Day in 1997 just outside Gainsville, Florida.

As a puppy she was coated with some chemical. Laura was alergic to it. To wash the chemical off, I gave her a bath in our shower. We think that her fear of being submered in water is due in part to that experience. She was welcomed into the household by her step brothers, Mojo and Mustard. She sees them from time to time now, but for the first three years she was with them constantly. She was not welcomed into the family by Sugar and the other cats. She now lives with no cats.

Her Health

The only problem she has exprienced is "hot spots" very common to Goldens. We have learned to live with them. Grooming is important in keeping her healthy. Also important is regularly exercise. She runs with Charles in the morning and walks with him and often Kat too in the early evening.

Her Passion

Nothing beats playing ball. Maggie loves running after a thrown ball -- anywhere and at any time.
