The purpose of the study is to provide a better understanding of the effects of stress and coping on relationship quality for military personnel and their spouses/partners and on their individual overall quality of life. Using stress theory to guide this investigation, the impact of recent stressors and strains on couples, along with their coping abilities and their perceptions of their situations, will be used to examine the relational and individual quality of life of military personnel and their spouses/partners.
