Visiting Institute Scholars

2004-2005

Ozlem Karairmak (looking at the camera, and enjoying coffee in Istanbul with Kathy Figley) from the leading Turkish university, the Middle East Technical University, is collaborating on a cross-cultural comparison of the attributes of resiliency among undergraduates enrolled in social work courses in the US and Turkey.

Another visitor this year was Takashi Fujioka, Professor at the Japan College of Social Work. He was here to consult on his earthquake research, the possible translation of a book on traumatized families or on compassion fatigue, and discuss research on these topics plus the topic of the resiliency as trait hypothesis. He presented a lecture on earthquake response in Japan.
