Description

Carolyn L. Piazza is an associate professor of reading and language arts at Florida State University where she teaches graduate courses in beginning reading, oral and written expression, children’s literature, and research in written composition and sociolinguistics. Dr. Piazza has written several professional articles on language and composition and is the author of Multiple Forms of Literacy: Teaching Literacy and the Arts, which links oral and written discourse to the visual and performing arts, and Journeys: The Teaching of Writing in Elementary Classrooms, which offers practical advice and classroom vignettes on teaching writing. Dr. Piazza’s research interests include classroom communication and written composition. To find out more about Dr. Piazza and the Reading and Language Arts Program, visit the Department website.
