Congratulations!
Congrats to all our participating schools... Childersburg, Donoho, Drew, Glencoe, Handley, Kitty Stone, Mitchell, Oxford, Sacred Heart, Stowers Hill, White Plains, and Whitesboro. Thanks for helping make ESO 1998 a success!

Thanks, Sponsors!
A special thank you to the ESO 1998 sponsors: AmSouth Bank of Jacksonville and McDonald's of Jacksonville. Also, thanks to the Jacksonville High School FFA for their construction assistance.

The Big Bucks
Zowie Metrics' gold medalist Amit Patel of Donoho went home $50 richer on ESO Saturday. Patel was the winner of the Gold Medal Drawing of 68 first place winners. The prize: a $50 Savings Bond complements of AmSouth Bank of Jacksonville.

Super Sketchers
In a first for the ESO at JHS, the sketchers from Stowers Hill completed all 21 words in Picture This, a scientific Pictionary-style game, and with time to spare.

Going the Distance
In the inaugural year of Pastamobile, where teams build vehicles entirely out of pasta, Mitchell Elementary took the gold. Their edible creation coasted almost 5 meters off the launch ramp to outdistance the competition for the first place medal.

Oh So Close
Numerous ESO 1998 events needed multiple tiebreakers to determine a winner. In Weather or Not, the top three teams needed 4 tiebreakers to determine the gold, silver, and bronze medalists.
