ESO at JHS Coaches Policy All ESO at JHS Coaches must read, understand, and agree to the following policy regarding the distribution of information related to the Olympiad. "Coaches are advised that the distribution of materials, rules, regulations, clarifications, and other information related to the Elementary Science Olympiad at Jacksonville High School will occur exclusively through the ESO at JHS web site accessible at http://garnet.acns.fsu.edu/~ddp0223/index.html and http://aso.jsu.edu/esoatjhs/ Therefore, reasonable access to the Internet including email and the web is a required component of a school's registration. The ESO at JHS staff will make every effort to have complete information on this year's Olympiad online by November 1, 2000. However, a number of questions inevitably come up between November 1st and the Olympiad which require rule clarifications that may affect all ESO at JHS teams. Such updated information will be clearly indicated on the front page of the site (addresses above) and in monthly emails sent to coaches at the email address provided in the initial registration. It is the sole responsibility of coaches of ESO at JHS teams to check the ESO at JHS web site frequently in the months and weeks prior to the Olympiad for any such updated information. Inquiries regarding problems accessing the ESO at JHS web site should be directed to us via email (ESOatJHS@hotmail.com)." Any Cost? Elementary Science Olympiad at Jacksonville High School has become affiliated with the Alabama Science Olympiad state program. Please place your school in the one of the following groups based on previous participation to determine your fees for ESO 2001. ALL Participating Schools should submit a check for $25 made payable to Jacksonville High School by December 8th which will be refunded to you at the Olympiad in February. You may choose to pay by personal check or school check, keeping in mind that it will be refunded (the actual check returned) at the Olympiad. Your $25 fee ensures your team's spot in our field of participants. 1. Returning Schools - If your school has participated in the ESO at JHS within the last two years (1999 or 2000), your school does not owe any additional fees. 2. New Schools to ESO Competition - For new participants in their first year in the Science Olympiad program, your school will need to submit a separate check for $27 made payable to the Alabama Science Olympiad for state dues along with a copy of the most recent Elementary Science Olympiad Coaches Manual. This is in addition to the $25 refundable fee payable in a separate check. 3. New Schools to the ESO at JHS - For participants who are familiar with the Elementary Science Olympiad and who already have a copy of the manual, a check for $10 for state dues will be required. The $10 check should be made payable to the Alabama Science Olympiad. Again, this payment is separate from the $25 refundable fee for ESO at JHS. Checks should be mailed to Elementary Science Olympiad at Jacksonville High School, 1000 George Douthit Drive SW, Jacksonville, AL 36265. Returning Schools who need additional coaches manuals may order them from Science Olympiad, 5955 Little Pine Lane, Rochester, MI 48306, for $18.70 per manual (including shipping). Any Questions?
