The following are the responses are team came up with for the above captioned worksheet.

Members of our Team:  Laura Rand, Teresa Bach, Diedra Jones and Edna Bryant

List at least 5 values that good problem solving groups have.

        1.  Respect
        2.  Honest

        4.  Commitment
        5.  Trust

        (principles of good groups).

        1.  You may not agree with a person, but you respect their opinions, input and point of view.  Don't
        violate their space.

        2.  The group must be able to be honest with each other both as an individual and as a group.  This
value brings integrity, maturity and an overall positive atmosphere to the group, producing desired
        performance.

        3.  Be able to be responsible for the job you have agreed to do as a team.

        4.  Sticking with your product until you reach your goal.

that would insure the principles are implemented day-in and day-out.

        1.  Listen, acknowledge, hear them out, reflect and try to understand.  Treat as a human

2 .  Being upfront and open with truthful facts, with no hidden agendas.  Willing to admit mistakes.
        3.  Meeting deadlines, taking initiatives, ownership (standing behind your product), accepting failure.
        4.  Dedication, attending meetings, willing to put in time needed.
        5.  View each member as an asset, see the positive in people, confidence in the ability to confide.

    1. Respect
    2. Commitment
    3. Trust/Loyalty
    4. Integrity/Responsibility

For each value, write a short paragraph explaining the value's meaning:

    1. Listen to each other, allow each person their own opinion, treat each person equally, no name calling, etc.
    2. Everyone does their part, wants to be part of the group, wants to be part of the project,   understands the projects importance.

For each value, list specific team behaviors that would insure the principles are implemented.

    1. Each person receives equal time for participation.  Be a good "listener", come prepared.  Meet as a group, not without each member present during discussion relevant to the project.

3. Management must support the team and its ownership.
4. Team members must have feeling and ownership.
5. Team must be right size—not too large or too small.
6. Someone should be trained to be a facilitator to keep the team on track
7. The team should establish clear ground rules up front.
8. Team diversity, i.e., personality, is a necessity for team to be productive.
9. Team must value and respect one another’s ideas; any conflicts should be kept at a non-personal level.
10. Must ensure that all members of the team are involved.  Don’t let one person dominate.
11. There must be an orderly process established for solving problems.
12. An agenda should be established to make sure all tasks are accomplished.
13. There should be high expectations by all members to reach the goal.
14. There must be shared objectives by all team members to reach the goal.
15. All team members should strive to be good listeners.
16. Team members should understand all issues so as to be able to participate.
17. Need a team leader; however, there are no bosses—leave rank at the door.  Each person becomes part of the team.
