CPM Level 2 - Group #3 TEAM definition

Definitions of a Team:

TEAM - A multi-talented, diverse group of individuals working together in an organized way to achieve a common objective. Characteristics of a TEAM include:

    Diversity of Membership
    Purpose and Organization
    Goal and Objective to meet
    Leadership and Responsibilities
    Mechanisms to Solve Conflicts
    Mechanisms to reach Agreements
    Recognition and Appreciation of individual Talents and Differences
    A degree of Cooperation
 

A TEAM:
- Is a group of individuals with a common and clear goal
- Is committed to a common objective
- Is open minded
- Is willing and motivated
- Has compatible skills
- Has empowerment with defined parameters
- Has a good working approach
- Is team challenged
- Takes ownership
- Provides a facilitator if needed to help with the process
- Has acceptance of diversity and ideas
- Has a sense of humor
- Has active listening skills
- Makes ground rules with an agenda
- Has high expectations
- Is focused
- Has enthusiasm
- Has trust
- Has disagreement using civil behavior
- Has a systematic behavior
- Has members that are equally contributing
- Is consensus if needed
 

ELEMENTS OF A TEAM CRITIQUE

- Be honest
- Be tactful, critiques can be painful
- A meaningful honest critique is good
- A meaningless arbitrary critique is bad
- Constructive criticism is good
- Destructive criticism is bad
- People need to accept feedback
- Critiques should not be personal
- Critiques should stick to the issues
- Feedback should be prompt
- Avoid blind spots with friends
- Treat everyone equitably
- Use humor and make it lighthearted, if possible
- Stress the good as well as the bad
