Transit Fellow Placement
Transit
fellows have engaged in valuable internships that have led to productive
careers:
· Gibran Hadj-Chikh interned with TalTran and the
Tri-Rail commuter rail authority in southeast Florida and now is Project Planner
for Parsons Engineering in Baltimore;
· Carey (Osborne) Butler interned with TalTran and Miami
Dade County Transit and now is Operations Planning Manager for the Transit
Authority of the River City in Louisville;
· Kevin Tilbury interned with TalTran and Miami Dade
County Transit, was a cofounder of the consultancy, Renaissance Planning Group,
and now conducts studies of alternative transportation and land use for
Gresher, Smith and Partners in Nashville;
· Samuel Scheib interned on a transit study conducted by
the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and now is a Senior Planner for
Star Metro. Outside of his job, he founded Trip Planner Magazine in 2008. Trip Planner is a high quality trade
journal devoted to improving the art and science of transit.
· Dave Snell interned for Star Metro and now works for a
public transport authority in Leeds, England;
· Alex Bell interned for Star Metro in Tallahassee
during the 2007-2008 academic year and during Summer 2008 he interned with
Charlotte Area Transit. There he participated in an abbreviated version of
their management training program, following which he was assigned to the team
planning for the northeast extension of CAT’s new light rail system. Upon
graduation in December 2008 he was hired by the Renaissance Planning Group and
is working out of their Tampa office.
· Seth Morgan interned with Star Metro in Tallahassee
during the 2008-2009 academic year, and during Summer 2009 he interned with the
Denver RTD, where he worked on light rail planning. Upon graduation in May 2010
he was hired as an intern by the Boston office of the transit planning
consultancy of Nelson-Nygaard. In March 2010 Seth won best student paper award
in a competition sponsored by the Transportation Planning Division of the

· Rory Rowan interned with the Tallahassee office of
Gannett-Fleming during the 2009-2010 academic year where he worked on transit
demand models. During Summer 2010 he is interning with TriMet in Portland,
where he is working on light rail project planning.
· Mike Sillence interned with Star Metro in Tallahassee
during the 2009-2010 academic year, and during Summer 2010 he is continuing to
intern with Star Metro.
