southfloridafemale: my church fell apart i went to a newone- it was good they got a new youth minister- i stopped getting anything out of going
Scorch9110: ahh ... usually that largely depends on what you intend to get out of it.

Scorch9110: mmm well the church i go to ain't what i would consider to be the perfect church in my mind, but something my dad said once -- the perfect church don't exist. if it were perfect, you would ruin it if you went.
southfloridafemale: ewll i use to leave youth group feeling good and then i started leaving feeling like i wasted my time
Scorch9110: so, barring large theological inconsistencies and general heracy, i have become a lot more accepting of church ministries in seeing their faults and their strengths together

Scorch9110: although most of the time i have an ulterior motive to go to a youth group service, i do try to realize that the reason i'm there shouldn't be whatever originally brought me

southfloridafemale: um i am not sure there is one- havent been in a while- it would be comforting to believe there is but is there anything more behind christianity then comfort to people? i am not surei am not sure if there is anythign after death- but i do believe in ghost- God hasnt ever spoken to me and sure hasnt returned any of my prayers or given in any signal in my hard times that he is truely there

southfloridafemale: everyone is to egotistical to believe once they die they are dead and thats where i believe christianity plays a big role
Scorch9110: interesting you say "returned" prayers -- while the grammar is correct, the common idiom is "answer" ... return indicates a sort-of tit-for-tat arrangement.

Scorch9110: i see, yes, so you are saying that Christianity has made a self-absorbed society so egotistical that they believe just because they are a part of this "Christianity" that they will go to "a better place" to make themselves feel better?
southfloridafemale: not totally- i am not saying there isnt a god i just havent been convinced- its easy for someone to believe in god on a comfort level cause having god would be a confort- not having to worry about life after death cause you would go to a better place- no one wants to die and just be dead

southfloridafemale: and i think born again christian is dumb- its just replacing whatever addiction you had beforesubstance abuse or whatever eles took you away from "god" in the first place with the addiction for christ- so all it is is replacing the one addiction with another- so its really just preferance of addiction iguess

southfloridafemale: see peopel may think it sucks to not think anything is after life or theres not much purpose to life- but i feel it would be worse to have to focus our whole exsistance on worshipping a god- seems just as pointless

Scorch9110: in a world (read: universe) so large, would it not be selfish to think that an existence rested on the very shoulders of man's whims? simply put, God deserves all the glory, all the honor, and all the power.
