Goals for
EDE 5306: Current Trends and Issues in Elementary Education: Technology
The goals of this course are by the end of the course the student will:
Perform a critical analysis of trends and issues related to the use of electronic technology in education.
Use a computer for a variety of applications related to education, such as:
Integrated Software
Telecommunications (including the Internet and World Wide Web)
Hypermedia, including HyperStudio and HyperText
Telecommunications, Internet & World Wide Web
Instructional software awareness, selection, and evaluation
Changes in the Elementary Curriculum brought on by the presence of technology
Explore uses of technology as integrative themes,
Communication
Knowledge search strategies
Data collection, organization, and representation
Problem solving
Visualization and imagery development
Evaluate the potential effectiveness of computers and computer-related materials for educational applications.
Organize and prepare materials that reflect rethinking an integration of technology into instruction.
