Courses for Teachers — Spring 2001

Web-based Dynamic Learning

The courses, EDE 5346 — Technology in Elementary and Middle School and EDE 4341 — Technology and Learning for Middle School, are intended for  practicing teachers interested in learning about computer technology and how it can help them and their students.  Starting with the basics of computer, use, electronic mail and productivity software, the courses progresses to include computer hardware, such as scanners, digital cameras and printers and concludes with extensive instruction and practice in the use of the web to enhance education.

Working with one or more of your colleagues you will participate in a variety of hands-on activities, discover the ways that computers can make your time more efficient and can help make you and your students lifelong learners and explore methods for using the web to locate and create dynamic learning opportunities for your students.

The course will meet on five Saturdays during the semester to provide the hands-on experiences for implementing into your classes.  Additional activities will be conducted via the internet using the web, electronic mail and the online collaboration environment.
