National & International

Dr. Burnett is a member of the American Library Association (ALA), the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE), the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR), and Beta Phi Mu.

ALA
Dr. Burnett has served on several External Review Panels for the Committee on Accreditation (COA). At the 2008 Midwinter Conference, she presented on curriculum evaluation during an External Review Panel training session, and in Fall 2007, contributed a brief comment on curriculum evaluation to PRISM. At the 2007 Annual Conference, she participated in a panel sponsored by the ACRL Women's Studies Section: Once Upon a Furl in a Podcast Long Ago.
ALISE
Dr. Michelle Kazmer and Dr. Burnett were recently appointed editors of Journal for Education in Library and Information Science Education (JELIS) through 2012. Dr. Burnett is also a member of the ALISE Publications Committee and served as Chair of the Statistical Advisory Board (2007-2008). She is a frequent presenter at the ALISE annual conferences and was awarded the ALISE Methodology Paper Award with Boryung JU (Louisianna State University) and Robert F. Brooks (FSU) in 2000.
ASIS&T
With Dr. Laurie J. Bonnici, Dr. Burnett presented a short paper at the 2007 Annual Conference. She also served as a reviewer of the papers that will be presented at the 2008 conference.
AOIR
Dr. Burnett organized a panel and presented a refereed paper at the 2006 conference in Brisbane, Australia. She presented a refereed paper at the 2007 Conference in Vancouver, Canada.
