Mark W. Horner's Geography Page at FSU
Welcome to my Homepage at Florida State University. This space contains details about my research and teaching interests. Feel free to explore these pages to learn more about me and my work.
Research Interests
My interests are in geographic information systems and science, transportation, and urban-regional analysis. Current research can be summarized along the following three interrelated themes: (1) Examining the sustainability of transportation and urban land use phenomena. (2) Spatial modeling and decision support in urban, regional, and environmental contexts. (3) Understanding issues of representation in geographic information science and their implications for theory and practice.
Prospective Graduate Students
I welcome inquiries from prospective new graduate students with overlapping research interests. Contact me if you have questions about research opportunties and graduate study here at FSU.
Hobbies and Personal Interests
My favorite pastime is spending time with my family. I also enjoy performing, writing and recording music. I play all of the band instruments (drums, guitar, sax, bass), and have been known to sing a bit, but I love the electric bass. Outdoor activities such as biking and tennis are appealing too.
