Teaching recognition
I have been nominated by my students for the Florida State University graduate teaching award six times.
Nine times, ≥90% of my students rated my teaching as Excellent on Florida State University's standard course evaluation instrument(s). I achieved the ≥90% rating in 2003, 2004 (2), 2006 (2), 2007 (2), 2009, and 2011.
I received the Florida State University College of Information Outstanding Faculty Award, which is student-selected, in 2004.
ASIS&T Webinar
In July 2011, I led a webinar sponsored by ASIS&T SIG-ED and ALISE SIG-DE: "Transforming our e-learning 'worst practices' into excellent teaching." I asked participants to attend prepared to share failures and subsequent fixes for them, or intractable e-learning problems with broad reach and offered to share my slides.
