Art-4924C 01, Media Workshop Photography - Documentary Methods

• This workshop will start with a focus on documentary methods which is one of the basic tenents of photographic practice.

 

• This class will work from life. Students will draw from life twice a week and do related home assignments.One of the basic tenents of art practice is that working from the live model is an important way to sharpen one's perceptions as well as your drawing and painting skills. For years much of that information was taught by having students draws from casts of famous sculpture as well as from the live nude human. Due to budget restraints you really have to go to Florence, Italy on the Florence program to get that experience. So we draw from green peppers and other anthropromorphic vegetables (live models may be nude).Check out our Supply List

Supervised Teaching Seminar. For TAs actively teaching.

This workshop is for graduate art students who currently have a teaching assistantship. It is required for each semester that a graduate student has the responsibility for teaching a class in the Department of Art. This course contiues the topics begun in the Professional Practices seminar. We meet once a week for a discussion of issues that arise from teaching your courses.
