MASTER'S
PROGRAM LEARNING AND COGNITION: ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
|
Students enter our program by applying
to the Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems (EPLS)
and specifying the Learning and Cognition program.
Minimum criteria for acceptance to the
program are the same as for the Department of Educational Psychology and
Learning System.
-
A combined GRE score of at least 1000 (on
the verbal and quantitative sections)
-
A MINIMUM score of 400 each on the
verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE. This is a COLLEGE of Education
requirement.
-
A cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.0 based
on a 4.0 scale for the last two undergraduate years.
-
International applicants must achieve a score
of 550 or better on the TOEFL exam
-
We consider candidates from a variety of fields
who have a master's degree in a different content area. Necessary courses
to be taken for the Learning and Cognition Master's Degree in this instance
will be considered initially at the time of application and later upon
the student's arrival. The student may need to show syllabi and written
work from master's level courses taken at another college or university
in order to receive credit toward a program requirement. (Please note,
any such credit does NOT count toward the Florida State University credit
hours requirements.)
To complete your application, you must submit
an online FSU application form, an EPLS application form (click HERE
to download), three recommendations from faculty or employers and
a personal statement (about one to two pages) briefly describing your academic
and occupational history, academic interests, and academic and occupational
goals following your degree completion.
And, of course:
-
transcripts from all academic colleges of
universities you have attended (whether you earned a degree or not)
-
Graduate Record Exams and Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if appropriate
The Learning and Cognition Applications
Committee as a whole will review your files.
Requests for further information about
admission may be addressed to any
member of the Learning and Cognition faculty or to:
