W.H. Moore's Undergraduate Courses
What's Here?
Syllabi for the courses I teach and student evaluations of those courses
(where available), plus other stuff
related to undergraduate eduation (see list below). You can also find some student
ratings of my courses at the
Rate
My Professors website. All FSU faculty course evaluations can be found
here.
Courses
I teach the following courses. The hyperlinks are to HTML or
Adobe PDF
files of syllabi and handouts for the courses I teach as well as students' evaluations of the courses.
Depending upon how your browser is set-up, you can
either view these files or ftp them (click the postscript link
above for more info).
If you cannot read PDF files,
.
Lower Division Undergraduate Courses
Upper Division Undergraduate Courses
There are two handouts here that I have used in my undergraduate
courses. One is specifically written for what I call thought
papers, the other is for any type of paper. There are also
other useful writing links.
I am happy to write letters of recommendation for my students.
If you'd like me to write one on your behalf, please get
me the information listed below, and I will take care of it.
Please note: I write frank evaluations, so you may want to
ask me whether I feel I can write a strong letter
on your behalf. I am willing to let you know in advance whether
I can do so.
Letters for Law School
If you are requesting a letter in support of applications to
law school, I would prefer to file a letter with the
Law School Admission Council
and have them send it out to schools from there.
Please send me the following:
1. A personal statement explaining why you want to attend
Law School.
2. A resume.
3. A copy of your transcripts.
4. A copy of a paper you wrote for me (including my comments).
5. The form from the LSAC.
Letters for M.A. and Ph.D. Programs in Political
Science
If you are interested in obtaining an advanced degree in
Political Science, I prefer to mail individual letters
for each application (in some cases, I will know people
at the university).
Please send me the following:
1. A personal statement explaining why you want to attend
Graduate School.
2. A resume.
3. A copy of your transcripts.
4. A copy of a paper you wrote for me (including my comments).
5. A list of the Universities to which you plan to apply.
If you have any comments, suggestions, complaints, etc. about one
(or more) of my courses (e.g., what readings did you really like
or think ought to be removed?), I'd love to hear them. We
really don't get much feedback through the student evaluations.
Also, if you have any feedback about this page, I'd like to hear
that too. My email address is below.
Thanks!
