Internship in Geography

Starting from Fall 2006, I serve as director of the undergraduate internship program for Geography Department, and students who plan to do an internship while earning college credits should pay attention on the instruction posted here:

  • Please note that we only allow our own majors (either geography or environmental studies) to earn credits by doing an internship and that we do not give credits to any past-date internship.
  • Starting from Spring 2009, anyone who is not our own major (either geography or environmental studies) but manages to register GEO4941 for any reason will be absolutely REMOVED (No KIDDING!) from GEO4941even within the last week of a semester. This policy will be strictly applied.
  • We do not provide a placement service and you have to find an internship position by you own. You could contact FSU career center or any students who have recently completed an internship as they may know some agencies who need to hire additional student interns.
  • An internship could be physically at FSU campus or anywhere in the United States.
  • Students who are interested in taking GEO4941 must register within the first two weeks of a semester when he/she actually works for an intern position. We will NOT accept any late registration.
  • Please read through the information from my course syllabus before registering this course, and make sure you submit the required documents before the end of the semester you register.
  • By signing in GEO4941, you agreed all the conditions stipulated in my syllabus and in this course web site, failure in doing so will result in a substantial grade reduction or a failure grade.
